KYLE, Texas — A man was arrested Monday after firing at firefighters responding to a nearby blaze.
KXAN reported that after firefighters put out the flames, they heard at least one gunshot and then a bullet impacted a wall behind them.
Police officers arrived on scene and found Jason Montalvo, 18, asleep in his bed with a rifle by his side, according to the report.
After waking Montalvo, he became combative and refused to surrender his firearm, according to the report.
Police used a stun gun to subdue Montalvo and took him into custody.
He was booked on assault on a public servant charges in addition to an outstanding warrant for marijuana possession, according to the report.
