FLINT, Mich. — A Flint firefighter was injured this morning when the stairway on which he was walking in a vacant house gave way and he fell approximately 6 feet.
According to Capt. Keith Crawford, firefighters had responded to a fire at 316 Washington, near Kearsley Park, just after 3:14 a.m. when the firefighter was injured.
The two-story house was vacant, the captain said, but firefighters entered it in order to prevent flames from spreading to a neighboring house.
Crawford said he couldn’t release any further information about the firefighter’s condition, but it was understood that his injuries weren’t life-threatening.
