ASBURY PARK, N.J. — A New Jersey firefighter was listed in critical condition Monday after bailing out from a flashover.
Asbury Park Firefighter Jason Fazio suffered serious burns at the apartment fire, according to The Star-Ledger.
Firefighter Fazio also suffered broken bones as a result of his fall from a second-story window.
“Basically he bailed out of the second-floor window to save his life,” Asbury Park fire official Garrett M. Giberson told the newspaper.
The three-alarm fire damaged several residential and commercial units in the two-story brick structure.
