Ore. firefighters battle 4-alarm marina fire

Crews used aerial trucks and fire boats to help contain the fire; the cause of the fire is unknown

PORTLAND, Ore. — A four-alarm fire at a marina destroyed hundreds of boats Sunday night.

OregonLive.com reported firefighters were dispatched to the Sundance Marina around 10:30 p.m. The warehouse contained about 350 boats.

Firefighters were forced to adopt a defensive strategy because of the massive size of the blaze. More than 100 crews from Portland and Vancouver fire departments responded.

Crews used aerial trucks to douse the building as well as fire boats due to a shortage of nearby fire hydrants.

The cause of the fire is unknown. Investigators are on scene.
