RUSK COUNTY, Texas — A fire at a Texas volunteer firehouse destroyed a rescue truck Monday morning.
KLTV reported that the fire occurred at about 8:30 a.m. at the Crims Chapel (Texas) Volunteer Fire Department.
Three neighboring departments, along with EMS, responded to the call. Upon entry, firefighters found one truck, Rescue 15, heavily involved. Crews quickly extinguished the fire, but the truck sustained heavy fire damage.
The other rigs and station sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported.
The fire chief, who lives next door to the firehouse, was the first to see smoke and call for outside help.
