MODESTO, Calif. — A firefighter got up close to flames to shut off a gas valve during a business fire in Modesto, Calif., on Tuesday.
Video posted online shows the firefighter moving in towards the fire as fellow firefighters are able to push back flames just enough to allow him to make the maneuver.
With the gas off, the fire quickly dies down.
“This fire had a tremendous potential to be a very large fire in the block area,” said Division Chief Sean Slamon.
