PENDLETON, S.C. — A fire chief woke up Tuesday morning to find his rescue truck missing from his driveway.
FOX Carolina reported that Chief Dale Horne, with the Anderson City (S.C.) Fire Department, last saw his truck around 8:30 p.m. on Monday. He contacted the sheriff’s office, who later interviewed neighbors in his subdivision. One neighbor said they saw suspects in the chief’s yard around 3 a.m.
The chief’s bicycles were found in a neighbor’s yard, and the neighbor told deputies they believed they saw teenagers in the chief’s yard, according to the report.
More than $50,000 worth of gear was inside the vehicle, including an iPad and rescue gear, according to the report.
Horne described the stolen vehicle as a 2014 model with a winch in the front.
