ANDERSON, S.C. — Anderson’s fire chief says his SUV, stolen from his driveway when he finished searching for a missing baby in Pendleton, has been recovered.

Sheila Cole of the Sheriff’s Office said Chief Dale Horne’s truck was found on East Shockley Ferry Road behind an abandoned building just after 6 p.m. Cole said nothing appeared to be missing and authorities had no suspects in the theft.

Horne said after the search he drove home, went to sleep, woke up, and discovered his SUV was gone. Horne said he was exhausted after the search for Leaona Wright and left his keys in the truck.
