AUBURN, Maine — City council members voted to restore $120,000 in funding to fire departments, eliminating the need for brownouts at some stations, Monday night.
WMTW reported that the Auburn City Council also voted to restore $25,000 to curbside recycling and $20,000 to special events.
Auburn mayor Jonathan Labonte said the money came from shifting cuts in other departments, as well as the state budget being approved, and the revenue to the city being higher than projected, according to the report.
