COVENTRY, Conn. — Town officials confirmed that Joseph Carilli secretly received a $12,000 payout when he stepped down as chief of the South Coventry Fire Department last fall.
At the time Carilli was accused of harassing female employees at a Dunkin’ Donuts in town.
Just last month, he was arrested for having a sexual relationship with a junior firefighter starting when she was 15. Town officials also confirm the Coventry Volunteer Fire Association intends to recover the money given to Carilli, possibly by suing him.
