AUGUSTA, Ga. — Two firefighters placed on administrative leave have been arrested in connection with stealing items from a crash scene.

WJBF.com reported that firefighter Wesley Hughes and Sgt. Antione Mullins, with the Augusta Fire Department, were charged with theft and each given a $1,100 bond. Two deputies have also been arrested in connection with the theft.

They allegedly took a crash victim’s personal belongings that were scattered around an interstate on Feb. 20. Items included cell phone covers, Bluetooth head sets and cell phone chargers.
