BUFFALO, Iowa — A fire department was damaged after a driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into the building.
KWQC reported that Brandon Butler was on his way to work when he said he fell asleep and plowed through the right side of the Buffalo Fire Department, crashing into a trailer and truck inside.
“I work over on the docks,” Butler said. “I was on my way to work today and I fell asleep for about 10 seconds. I woke up and I was sliding across the parking lot and into the building. Honestly, I’m more worried about the fact that I have a baby on the way. I can’t pay for something like this, everybody is worried about me, I’m fine. I’m worried about what I’m going to do about everything else.”
Fire Chief Terry Adams said crews are currently assessing the damages.
