KATY, Texas — For nearly another year, no resolution will be reached in the transitional dispute between the West I-10 Volunteer Fire Department and Harris County Emergency Services District 48.
In a hearing this past Monday, August 24, Judge Elaine H. Palmer of the 215th District Court in Houston granted a temporary injunction that will override the one currently in place.
Palmer ordered in her ruling that among the five stations currently active with West I-10, stations 3,4 and 5 to be turned over to ESD 48. Stations 1 and 2 will remain in control of the West I-10 Fire Department. Additionally, she ruled that ESD 48 will take over any and all vehicles titled to them as well as the equipment in the vehicle.
