UTICA, N.Y. — On October 22, city firefighters came to the Genesee Street Children’s Center to show a fire safety video to pre-schoolers.
Instead, an adult film popped up on the screen. Fire Chief Russell Brooks said on Thursday that the incident was a violation of a long-standing policy in the department against pornography.
“They’re not allowed to have any pornography in the firehouse, not even in their personal lockers,” he said. “We investigated the situation and someone tampered with one of our cameras, we don’t know if it was a civilian or a firefighter. When it came on, it was immediately covered up and no children were harmed.”
