Okla. firefighter injured by chainsaw while fighting house fire

The firefighter cut three of his fingers and may require some stitches, but will be okay

TULSA, Okla. — A firefighter was injured Wednesday morning while fighting a house fire in the midst of a violent storm.

Newson6 reported that lightning struck the house and when the tenants smelled smoke, they got out without anyone being injured and called 911. The fire chief said the biggest obstacle to fighting the fire was that many of their companies were spread out all over town, responding to fires and storm damage, according to the report.

One firefighter was on the roof of the house with a chainsaw when it jumped back and cut three of his fingers, according to the report. The firefighter may require some stitches, but would be fine, according to the district chief.
