ORLANDO, Fla. — The Mississippi man charged with manslaughter for allegedly throwing a punch that killed his father earlier this month will face a judge this morning.

Taylor Harris, 21, was brought to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office by Pearl Mississippi Police Thursday.

Harris cursed at his father, Leonard Harris, 52, pushed him, then grabbed him by the neck and punched him, causing him to fall backward and lose consciousness in the parking lot of Dave and Buster’s on July 7, said Jane Watrel, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office.

The younger man was upset because he had just learned his dad was having an affair, investigators said.

Harris died 10 days later at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, investigators said.

The younger Harris was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail on a manslaughter charger Thursday.
