WEST, Texas — A surprise blessing for a young family who lost their father in the West Fertilizer Company explosion eight months ago.
On April 17, 37-year-old Perry Calvin, a volunteer firefighter died along with 14 others. His wife, Becky Calvin, missed his call by just minutes.
“He actually called me about 3 minutes before the explosion and I was in the bathroom and couldn’t get to the phone. I didn’t get to answer,” Calvin said. Becky Calvin was left with their two boys and a third baby on the way. Her husband dreamed of having a little girl and just before Thanksgiving, she gave birth to a baby girl named Pressley Wreanne Calvin.
