GALESBURG, Ill. — Galesburg’s Fire Marshal is embarking on a big adventure. He’s going almost halfway around the world to share his expertise.
Dan Foley gave the Galesburg Fire Department his letter of resignation and he and his wife are moving to India. Fire Marshals spend a good portion of their day behind a desk, organizing, filing paper work and making sure things get done correctly but Dan Foley wants to take his firefighting skills and share them with the world.
“The way I hope to use it, is to help countries who had not had the resources to spend on the fire service both in training, but public education arson investigation all those areas”, said Dan Foley.
