OZARK, Mo. — Two seat-belted firefighters suffered minor injuries early Monday in a fire truck wreck.
News-Leader reports that J.N. Cloyd, 19, and Jason L. Stephens, 29, suffered moderate injuries when the fire truck they were riding in ran off the side of the road while responding to a structure fire.
The truck drove off the right side of the road, overcorrected and then ran off the left side of the road, striking a ditch, fences and two trees before coming to rest in a field, according to the report.
Firefighter Stephens is listed as the driver and both men were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
The fire truck suffered moderate damage and both firefighters were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
While the highway patrol’s crash report only indicates two people in the vehicle, a post on the Sparta Fire Protection District’s Facebook page states that three of their firefighters were involved in the accident, and that two were taken to the hospital with “minor” injuries, according to the report.
“Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery,” the post reads.
