2 NJ firefighters hurt after fire truck crashes

The firefighter operating the rig said he was forced to take evasive action to avoid a collision

MORRISTOWN, N.J. — Two firefighters were hospitalized after their fire truck crashed Tuesday.

Morris Township firefighters were responding to a call when they were cut off by another vehicle, reported the Daily Record. Firefighter Michael Zucker, who was operating the engine, said he was forced to take evasive action to avoid a collision. As a result, the rig left the roadway.

Zucker and firefighter Brandon McCloskey were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

The rig sustained significant damage in the crash.

Police are investigating the incident and have not located the vehicle that cut the rig off.
