BAZETTA TWP., Ohio — A fire station is out of service after being damaged by a fire truck Friday.
WFMJ.com reported that a rear door of an engine wasn’t latched and struck a supporting column as a crew of three firefighters with the Bazetta Township (Ohio) Fire Department left for a fire.
The truck is still in operation and is being stored at another firehouse.
Fire Chief Dennis Lewis said they have made arrangements to provide fire protection with only one station in service.
“We’ve already corrected that problem by having automatic response. If it is an area that will take us longer, Howland or Cortland departments will respond,” Chief Lewis said.
No one was injured and damage to the fire station is still being assessed.
