Ga. fire truck collision injures 3 firefighters, 3 civilians

A six-year-old is in critical condition; the firefighters were transported to a hospital

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A fire truck and a vehicle collided Wednesday, leaving six injured, including three firefighters.

Clayton County Fire Chief Daniel Vasquez told WSBTV that the wreck occurred around 11 a.m.

After the crash, firefighters jumped out of the truck to assist the individuals in the vehicle.

A 6-year-old girl in critical condition was airlifted to a hospital.

The firefighters were transported to the hospital for observation.

The 18-year-old driver and 8-year-old passenger of the vehicle sustained moderate injuries and were also transported to the hospital.

According to authorities, the passenger vehicle’s driver is believed to be at fault for the collision.

Vasquez told 11alive.com that the firefighters were not on a call at the time of the crash.
