Three fire trucks were damaged in the blaze and the fire caused $1.5 million in damages

NACKAWIC, Canada — A man was arrested after driving his pickup truck into a firehouse and igniting a fire that damaged the building and several fire trucks.

CBS News reported that the fire was burning for about 90 minutes before it was extinguished. One firefighter was sent to the hospital because of smoke inhalation.

Three fire trucks were damaged in the blaze and the fire caused $1.5 million in damages, according to the report.

Despite the losses, the department remains operational. Two fire trucks are now on loan from other department, according to the report.

The 56-year-old pickup driver was taken into custody and faces an impaired-driving charge.

The incident remains under investigation.
