LA GRULLA, Texas — A mayor has been charged with theft by a public servant and abuse of official capacity for allegedly instructing firefighters to use fire trucks to fill his private swimming pool.
Valley Central reported that officials have given La Grulla Mayor Pedro Flores until Monday to surrender. The county attorney’s office investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Flores after he allegedly told firefighters to use the city’s fire trucks to go to his home and fill his private swimming pool.
If Mayor Flores does not surrender by Monday, then authorities will arrest him. The case is part of an ongoing investigation into the city.
