SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Exactly one year ago a South Bend firefighter went under the knife to remove an aggressive brain tumor.
On Saturday, Josh Comeau ran the Sunburst 5k, dressed in full turn out gear, to celebrate life and hope. NewsCenter 16 shared Comeau’s story first in September of last year, just a few months after he was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer.
The father of five took on a hopeful mantra, and has been living life to the fullest ever since. He said training through chemotherapy was a struggle at first, but he was able to push past it.
