ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Running a half marathon is no easy feat, but doing it in full firefighter gear is even harder.
Justin Montagno ran a half marathon in his gear Sunday to honor the lives of first responders that were lost during the Sept. 11 attacks, reported MPN Now.
“It’s my only real way of honoring them,” Montagno said. “I do stair climbs as well but this, to me, is more challenging than a forty flight stair climb. And this falls really close to Sept. 11, so to me, this is my one way of remembering them and honoring them for their sacrifice.”
Montagno completed the half marathon in about four hours.
