LAS VEGAS — Authorities in Las Vegas say two window washers suffered minor injuries when a cable holding up their platform at a hotel-casino snapped during high winds.

Spokesman Scott Allison says Clark County firefighters pulled the two men to safety Thursday through a 15th floor window at the Wynn Resorts-owned Encore Las Vegas. He says both were wearing safety harnesses.

Allison says the platform slammed against windows facing the Vegas Strip and rained down broken glass on a swimming pool area below.

Wynn spokeswoman Jennifer Dunne says no other injuries were reported.

The National Weather Service says 26 mph winds were reported at the time of the incident at nearby McCarran International Airport, with 44 mph gusts.
