WHITTIER, Calif. — A former CARE Ambulance Service employee is suspected of drunk driving after stealing an ambulance and crashing it into a fire hydrant in Santa Fe Springs, ABC7 reports.
Police responded Wednesday around 2:30 a.m. to a report that an ambulance had it a pole, a tree and then a fire hydrant. It took the fire department about 30 minutes to turn off the water.
Nobody was at the ambulance when officers arrived, but the suspect was found a short time later walking on a nearby street. He was treated for minor injuries sustained in the crash.
