FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Firefighters experienced another good day fighting the Stuart Hole Fire today and good progress was made with containment. Containment of the 227 acre fire is now reported at 80%. The fire was reported on Monday, June 4 at approximately 12:30 p.m. It was caused by lightning.
Ground crews were aided again today by a light helicopter (Type 3) doing water drops.
Some resources were released from the fire today. Current cost estimate for the fire is $324,000.
Road restrictions in the area will be lifted beginning at 6:00 p.m. tonight. Area residents and visitors are advised to drive with caution in the area as emergency vehicles will still be in the area on the roads.
Smoke and possibly flames will continue to be visible for some time in the area.
