BLACK JACK, Mo. — Three Missouri firefighters were injured when their fire engine overturned while they were responding to a fire on Monday evening.

Black Jack Fire Protection District Engine House 1 firefighters were responding to a house fire in Florissant when a car pulled out in front of them, FOX 2 NOW reported.

A Black Jack Fire spokesperson told KSDK the fire engine went off the roadway to avoid striking the car.

The three firefighters suffered minor injuries and were transported to a hospital.

The driver of the other car fled the scene.
