SAVANNAH, Ga. — Funeral services were held for master firefighter Michael Curry Saturday, after he died of an aortic aneurysm earlier this month.
Curry collapsed after helping pull people from a broken loading dock Nov. 19.
Hundreds attended Curry’s funeral, many of whom escorted the fire truck that was carrying his body, reported WSAV.
“It is with deep sadness and sorrow to report that after nearly 13 years of bravery and service, master firefighter Michael Curry has completed his last call, his last and final call on earth,” the Savannah Fire Department aired over dispatch.
Curry’s mother and son were presented with his helmet and the American flag.
