ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Firefighters were responding to a medical call when shots were exchanged between two passing cars. Firefighters and EMS workers took cover to avoid the gunfire.

Fire Captain Garon Mosby told the St. Louis Post Dispatch there were no injuries or damages to equipment. The firefighters did not appear to be the intended target.
According to the St. Louis Police Department, passengers in a stolen black Nissan Altima were shooting at others in a light colored vehicle Tuesday afternoon. The Altima was later found with blood inside, but no passengers, after it crashed into a streetlight.
Earlier this year, St. Louis and other districts purchased body armor for firefighters and paramedics in response to attacks on EMS professionals.
