Pa. FF struck, dragged by vehicle driving through incident scene

The driver reportedly drove around an engine and ran over the hose, causing the firefighter’s leg to become tangled

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — A Chambersburg firefighter was struck by a car and dragged while responding to a report of a possible fire at a diner Tuesday morning, Fox 43 reported.

The driver disobeyed traffic control directions, drove around a fire engine and ran over fire hose, according to Emergency Services Chief Dustin Ulrich. The firefighter’s leg became tangled in the hose, and he was dragged by the vehicle.

The injured firefighter was treated at a hospital and released, according to the Chambersburg Fire Department.

The driver was cited, according to the local police.
