CLAYTON, Del. — This 15-year-old lifesaver is a truly humble hero with so much to be proud of.

The day after saving a 4-year-old boy’s life with nine minutes of CPR that staved off a drowning death, Clayton Fire Co. Station 45 Junior member John Barkley Jr. didn’t even bring it up when sitting with a bunch of the guys at the station.

Turns out, the Smyrna High rising sophomore was at the table with William “Skip” Carrow, the Kent County 911 supervisor who took the June 1 call reporting a child being pulled from the bottom of a pool and was not breathing.
