SPANIARD’S BAY, Canada — The fire chief who played a pornographic video during a training session has been removed and replaced.
CBC.ca reported that Jeremy Hall has been replaced as chief of the regional Bay de Grave Fire Department. James Edmunds was chosen as his replacement following a series of meetings by fire department board members. Members allowed Hall to stay on as a firefighter.
Board members issued a brief statement saying they have adopted a respectful workplace policy and will provide training to all firefighters and board members.
Hall admitted to playing a short, but X-rated, pornographic clip at the end of a firefighter training session two years ago. It was one of a number examples outlined by firefighter Brenda Seymour of gender discrimination and sexual harassment she encountered as a female firefighter.
Hall could not be reached for comment Monday.
