EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Colleagues are rallying behind a firefighter who is in critical condition after a motorcycle crash Tuesday.
German Township Fire Lieutenant Chris Taylor was riding his motorcycle when a truck pulled out in front of him, reported Tristate. He was ejected from his motorcycle and is in the ICU with head and abdominal injuries.
“The initial reaction was shock when we found out that he had been involved in the accident,” firefighter Jeremy Nelson told the publication. “It hits us hard when we find out that one of our own has been hurt, especially when it’s such a critical condition. You want to leave and go there and help out in any way possible.”
Colleagues created a GoFundMe page to help cover Lt. Taylor’s medical bills; over $3,000 has been raised.
