Canadian woman found with stolen fire, police uniforms

The uniforms were stolen from a laundromat a week before the arrest

LONDON, Ontario — London police charged a woman for possessing fire and police uniforms after they were discovered in a residence over the weekend.

“It’s great that we’ve recovered the uniforms, therefore we don’t have anyone out in the public wearing our uniforms,” Constable Ken Steeves told the lfpress.com.

Last week, shirts, pants and jackets were stolen from a laundromat. Michelle Carter, 31, was charged with possession obtained by crime and appeared in court Sunday.

“We’re not accusing her of stealing them (the uniforms and other clothing), only of being in possession of them,” Const. Steeves said. “The investigation is continuing in regards to the theft aspect.”
