HOUSTON — Police are searching for the thieves responsible for burglarizing a volunteer firefighter’s personal vehicle and stealing his life-saving gear.
Click2Houston reported that the burglary was captured on firefighter Robert Rasa’s home surveillance video. The video, taken around 1 a.m. on Monday, shows two men going through his SUV after breaking in through the driver’s side window.
“Why anyone would want to take stuff like that? It just amazes me,” Rasa said. “Stuff that I use to help the community.”
The burglary of Rasa’s vehicle was one of at least nine vehicle burglaries that have occurred in the last eight days, according to the report. The burglaries have been reported at different times during the day, but most have occurred between the evening and overnight hours.
