CEDARVILLE, Calif. — Eight firefighters were hurt in a crash Friday while en route to battle a wildfire.
Associated Press reported that the firefighters were heading to the Modoc National Forest to battle a nearly 8,000-acre fire when a deer crossed the road.
Crews were in the rear of a convoy on its way to the forest; they drove up an embankment to avoid a collision and the truck flipped over.
Seven firefighters were released from the hospital, and one remains in stable condition.
