STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A New York firefighter was injured during an early morning house fire at New Springville on Staten Island, New York.

A spokesperson for the FDNY told SILive.com the house fire broke out at about 2 a.m. on Thursday, July 15. About 60 firefighters from 12 units responded to the “all-hands” incident at the second-floor home.

The firefighter, whose name was not released, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

It took roughly half an hour to control the fire.
