A battalion chief from the Richmond Fire Department called the police Monday and requested they check on 30-year-old Daniel Lewis, who lives in the 400 block of Nelson Drive in Newport News, police said.

Officers couldn’t find him and a missing person report was filed later that day, according to the post.

Lewis worked part-time as a medic at Busch Gardens, according to Quinton Coleman, who said the pair were close friends. Lewis is single and lived alone, so they spent a lot of time together.

He’s passionate about his job as a firefighter and medic, Coleman said.

Anyone with information that might help police to locate Lewis is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit a tip at p3tips.com.
