Michael Morse, Formerly of the Providence, R.I. Fire Department, recounts a horrific fire call with infant fatalities from early in his career. At the critical incident stress debriefing that followed, a veteran firefighter broke down and Michael couldn’t understand why. He would eventually understand, but only after the countless calls that followed in the years to come.
