Man arrested after threatening to kill firefighter

Firefighters had been evacuating the woods, where the man lives, when they said the threat occurred

OXFORD, Mass. — A man was arrested after police say he threatened to kill a firefighter on Saturday.

MyFoxBoston reported that the firefighters were fighting a brush fire when 42-year-old Jason West threatened to kill a firefighter.

“I will kill you if you don’t leave,” West allegedly said to the firefighter. “You won’t think it’s funny when a bullet cracks your helmet.”

Firefighters had been evacuating the woods when they said the threat occurred. Police say that West has no known address and lives in the woods, according to the report.

West allegedly resisted arrest and defaced property while in custody. Police said he threw feces at the security camera and across the entire cell. He was charged with resisting arrest and property defacement. He was released after posting bail and sent to a hospital for evaluation.

He’s scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday.
