NJ firefighters chase down firehouse burglar

He was seen leaving the firehouse with paint cans and socket wrenches; he is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail

BRIDGETON, N.J. — Firefighters chased down a man after allegedly attempting to steal from a cabinet inside their firehouse.

NJ.com reported that Richard Bard, 45, was charged with burglary after the incident on Thursday.

According to police, Bridgeton (N.J.) Fire Department personnel saw Bard allegedly leaving the firehouse with paint cans and socket wrenches.

Firefighters called in the theft to police while chasing Bard down the street. Authorities arrested Bard without incident shortly afterward, according to the report.

Bard is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
