TOPEKA, Kan. — A woman was arrested for stealing the pickup truck of a volunteer firefighter who stopped to help her while she was stranded on an interstate.
Topeka Capital-Journal reported that a volunteer firefighter saw a car on fire, belonging to Erien Knox, 23, and stopped to help. The firefighter let the woman sit in his truck while he extinguished the blaze.
Knox then stole the vehicle and led police on a high-speed chase. She was later apprehended and booked into jail with possession of stolen property and felony obstruction.
