PALM DESERT, Calif. — Firefighters rescued 22 people who were trapped on a stalled Ferris wheel at a California resort Friday night.
The Associated Press reported that a drive cable snapped and stranded riders on the 30-foot wheel at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa in Palm Desert.
Some people were left dangling for four hours until firefighters got them down with a ladder truck, according to the report.
Fire officials said everybody was off the wheel by 1:45 a.m. Saturday.
Nobody was injured.
