NEW CASTLE COUNTY, Del. — Firefighter Jimmy Ryan was driving home from work Monday when he stopped and pulled the victim of a fiery crash out of a burning truck, WPVI reported.

The crash injured four people on Interstate 95.

“The adrenaline just kicked in,” said Ryan, who serves with the Minquas Fire Company. “I pulled him out and hit him with a fire extinguisher to get him to stop burning and dragged him from the vehicle.”

The man was transported to ChristianaCare and had third-degree burns.
