NEW SOUTH WHALES, Australia — A firefighter died in a hospital after his car hit a tree Sunday.
The Australian reported that firefighter Ambrose Crittenden, 23, died from his injuries sustained in the car crash. His father and twin brother, also firefighters, were among the first emergency service personnel on the scene, according to the report.
NSW Fire and Rescue Minister Michael Gallacher said firefighters have had a hard time coming to terms with his death.
“Ambrose’s tragic death is a significant and sad loss for the firefighting family and the wider community,” he said in a statement.
