PARADISE, Calif. — A firefighter stumbled upon an unexpected friend while surveying debris from the Camp fire.
KCRA reported that Fairview Valley Fire Inc. firefighter Ryan Coleman came across a cat while going through the wreckage, and after saving her, the cat refused to leave his side.
Coleman posted photos of the experience on Facebook, as well as a video of the cat perched on his shoulders as he worked.
“Kitty rescue,” he wrote. “She just chilled on my neck and shoulders as I’d walk around.”
The post has gone viral, with more than 1.6 million views and 32,000 shares.
