Central Pierce Fire & Rescue crews used a high-point mechanical advantage system to lift Marge from between two trees

GRAHAM, Wash. — A 32-year-old horse named Marge was freed Wednesday after she became trapped between the trucks of two trees in Graham.

Central Pierce Fire & Rescue didn’t horse around when responding to the neigh-gative situation. Using a high-point mechanical advantage system — a contraption used to lift heavy loads — crews with Rescue 66 and Engine 94 carefully lifted Marge to free her from the tight squeeze.

“Thankfully, Marge only suffered a few minor scrapes and scratches and was otherwise doing well after the rescue,” Central Pierce Fire & Rescue posted on Facebook around 3:30 p.m. “A big thank you to Tahoma Veterinary Hospital, whose staff responded and were ready to assist. Calls like this are a reminder that we’re here to help every member of our community, including the four-legged ones.”
